Today Sitation is proud to share the news that it has earned national recognition as a member of the 2021 Inc. 5000, a list compiled annually by the editors of Inc. Magazine which recognizes the fastest growing private companies in the United States. Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

With 3-year revenue growth of 1,274%, Sitation’s rank of #379 places it among the top 8% of this year’s honorees. Sitation is included among the top 500 companies featured in the September 2021 issue of Inc.

Sitation provides services and software for retailers, distributors, and manufacturers to create and manage product content in e-commerce channels, a niche within the e-commerce industry commonly referred to as product information management, or PIM. Although Sitation was founded by Engelbrecht in 2001, it’s only in recent years that the business has seen its surge in growth, with the first full-time employees joining in January of 2019. As of this writing, the Sitation team is more than 30 employees, and continuing its strong growth trajectory.

Methodology

Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2020. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2020 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to three decimal places. There was one tie on this year’s Inc. 5000.  Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue.
