Unbelievably, another year has come and gone. It was another weird one, but we’ve continued to grow aggressively, to mature and evolve, and to help our clients grow and succeed in e-commerce.
We’ve brainstormed on a few words that capture aspects of 2021. Enjoy!
Whirlwind
The entrepreneurial journey is a winding road of ups and downs, zigs and zags. This year was no different! As Sitation continues to grow and evolve, we learn who we are, where we naturally excel, and where we need to spend extra time and effort to be successful.
The ups and downs teach us about our market, our customers, and ourselves. They challenge us to adapt and perform.
Boxers throw a lot of punches. Big league sluggers take big swings. And entrepreneurs try a lot of ideas. They don’t all work out, but as Wayne Gretzky says, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
Recognition
Our growth and achievements earned us some real recognition this year, and we’re proud to share it!
- We were named to Scot Wingo’s Triangle Tweener list for the second year in a row
- We won Akeneo’s Hackathon with a project combining the Akeneo real-time publishing API with ElasticSearch
- We were honored nationally as the 379th fastest growing company in the United States, and the 8th fastest in North Carolina, in the 2021 Inc 5000 List.
- We have deepened our partnerships and alliances, earning the honor of being recognized among the top global implementation partners for Salsify, Akeneo, and Riversand.
Strength & Discomfort
We set out on a mission at the beginning of this year to get better at being a bigger company. We grew quickly during the first year of the pandemic (how weird to think of it that way…). We decided to focus on project management and establish new systems and processes that would enable us to scale.
As Jon Dehne (Sitation’s COO) says, “strength and discomfort go hand in hand. This year we had a lot of discomfort to go along with our success, but each time, we got stronger.”
Growth
This was another year of growth. Our team continues to expand, from 25 this time last year to about 40 today, with commensurate growth in revenue. We’re a small but significant player in the PIM space, and the work we do matters.
Opportunity
As we close out the year, we are preparing for another huge year in 2022. We plan to achieve new milestones, win more recognition, and continue to do great work.
